Cuora trifasciata luteocephala is native to Hainan Island, China.
Also known as the Chinese golden coin turtle, Chinese three-banded box turtle and the Chinese three-striped box turtle.
Note: Cuora trifasciata luteocephala (Hainan, China) is different from Cuora trifasciata trifasciata (Vietnam).
Features: Bright yellow top of head with high contrast yellow and black markings on face, reddish brown shell with three longitudinal stripes, pink skin and black plastron (shell on under belly)
Captive Bred
Origin: Hainan Island, China.
Adult size: about 20-25 cm
Diet: fruits, insects, worms, snails, and other meat
Temp: 20 – 30 °C
