Apotamonautes hainanensis is a freshwater crab species in the family Potamidae, endemic to Hainan Island, China. It occupies a range of stream habitats across different elevations—from lowland plains to mid- and high-elevation mountain streams. Multiple subspecies reflect its ecological adaptability across altitude zones, including lowland, mid-mountain, and high-mountain stream environments.
